Welcome to Playa del Carmen!! Over the last few years, this little beach town has grown to become the most appealing destination in the Riviera Maya. Just 60 kilometers from Cancun, a similar distance from the archaeological Maya site of Tulum, is Playa del Carmen, an old fishermens' village known as Xaman H'a in the Maya language. The town has all types of shops from small local vendors to large businesses and even a Sam’s Club and Walmart. So pack light and buy it for less when you get here.
